Donations of Household Goods, Clothing, Furniture, and...

Guidelines for the donation of household goods, clothing, furniture, and toiletries.

We ask that you call us first at 607-748-7453.  We don’t always have available storage space.

We do not accept the following:

Ripped, stained, or out of date clothing. Undergarments that are not in new unopened packaging.

Opened or outdated toiletry or make-up products. 

Furniture or rugs.  We simply don’t have the storage capacity.   

Likewise, we don’t have the room for dishware, cookware, or decorative household items such as vases, or wall hung items (pictures, clocks, etc.)  

Used bedding.

Medications of any sort.

Stuffed animals and toys that are not brand new.

Car seats, unless they are in new unopened boxes.  We have no way to verify that they have not been in an accident and will not provide them to clients.

Any items left on our porch will be discarded.

What is domestic violence?

Domestic Violence is a pattern of coercive behavior. This pattern can include abuse of various sorts of one family member by another including:

Perpetrators of domestic violence have a goal to establish and maintain power and control over their partners and/or other family members.

This violence affects people in every racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic group and includes people of all ages who have lived together or who have had an intimate relationship.

Domestic violence often escalates in severity and frequency over time and can have serious health and psychological ramifications.

Representatives from Rise are available to speak to community organizations about domestic violence and our services.
